Call to Order: 6:11pm
Opening Prayer& Pledge of Allegiance:Prayer led by Grand Knight Jim Holuj Jr
Officers in Attendance: Brs. Jim Jr., Chuck, Andrew, Randall, Stan & Glenn present; Chaplain, all others excused.
Recognition of Guests and Dignitaries: None present.
Grand Knight’s Report:Br. Jim Jr. announced that Fr. Magiera has been selected as one of the six Cardosi Award winners. The 32nd Annual Cardosi Award Recognition Ceremony will be held on Saturday, May 20th at the Knight of Columbus Building in Kankakee; cocktails 5pm, dinner at 6pm and tickets are $40 person.
Also, K of C field agent Bob Strahanoski has been assigned to our council and he’ll be at our General Meeting on the 21st.
We’ll need two Insurance Seminars for Star Council. There is an on-line seminar this evening at 7pm and participation of 7 members will qualify for one of the two.
State Convention is coming up April 21st – April 23rd in Springfield and it would be nice to send two delegates.
Deputy Grand Knight’s Report:excused.
Chancellor’sReport:excused, however he has provided us with a bunch of books, The Warning & Daily Prayers to Save America and they’ll be brought to the next meeting.
Recorder’s Report:Nothing to report.
Financial Secretary’s Report:Since the last meeting 11 dues memberships have been collected of $330 dollars. Also, he has collected $75 dollars in donations, $45 by Br. Paul and one of our Honorary Life Members donated $30. He has $405 dollars to hand over to the Treasurer to deposit.
General Assistance Fund will be collected twice a month and starting at the next business meeting we’ll incorporate a 50/50 raffle.
Treasurer’s Report:Receipt for a deposit of $180 has been handed over the GK. Our balance at NuMark is currently $464.82, no expenses were paid.
Lecturer’s Report:excused and has reported that everything is proceeding nicely for the Family Movie Matinee. Paint has been ordered for the screen and is awaiting arrival. May need help setting out about 30 chairs in the gym. Br. Glenn has offered to set up chair following his music rehearsal the evening prior. Announcement are set to go out this week. The event is Saturday, March 25th doors open 2:30pm, movie to begin at 3pm.
Advocate’s Report: Our brother knight, Nick LeBanca, is part of St. Paul Street Evangelization. They are teaching Catholics how to practically share our Catholic faith in an authentic, non-confrontational, and joyful way. There will be a Basic Evangelization Training held at St. Joseph’s on Saturday, May 13th 9am – 3pm, cost is $15 and can be registered for at stpaulse.com/joliet-bet.
Warden’s Report:Nothing to report, however he did have a discussion with Daniel regarding a classroom for storage of at least a filing cabinet which is still awaiting approval.
Trustees Report:Nothing to report.
4th Degree Report: Br. Jim Jr. attending the last meeting to show his support and thanks for their kind donation. Br. Knights from St. Jude offered to combine forces when needed.
Program Reports:We will now be hosting the St. Joseph Pilgrim Icon on Monday, March 20th. It will be a Sung Mass at 6pm and we’ll hold a Rosary and Litany to follow, 45-60 mins tops. Little details are still to be ironed out.
March for Life Illinois taking place in Springfield on Tuesday, March 21st. An announcement will be put into the bulletin and from the pulpit announcing our planned attendance. There is a general email that was created for our filing that could be used for folks to RSVP if they are interested in carpooling or caravanning down.
Br. Randy proposed the publication of a quarterly Council Newsletter.
ID “Tootie-Roll” Drive will be coming up Sept/Oct.
