Call to Order
There being an official quorum present, the Council was called to order by Grand Knight Jim Holuj Jr. at 6:02pm for the inaugural officers meeting.

Approval of the Minutes of the Previous Meeting
Grand Knight’s Report:Beyond the human element of this council, we are doing God’s Will. We started our first officers meeting honoring Our Lady and we are all her Knights. By allowing her to lead us to her son and to allow our hearts to form like her son’s, we cannot fail. Everything we do, we do as a unit and as a team.
Council issues:A few remaining open positions will be filled by current officers. The following officers have agreed to dual responsibilities, Paul Ward – Program Director, Erik Jurgens – Lecturer, Randall Norman – Respect Life Chair, Michael Lamlech – Membership Director.Positions still to fill, 4th Degree Assembly, Faith Director, Family Director and Community Director. Conversations will be had with remaining members. With regards to the Community there is strong desire to partner with Rockdale’s Police and Fire Departments. Worthy New Council Development Director Br. Mikel recommendswe find out when the Police and Fire Departments have outreach scheduled and let them know we have men that cansupport. Those can be good programs to piggyback on and wouldn’t necessarily be created ourselves. We already have a great inroad as Fr. Magiera is the Chaplain for the Fire Department.
Correspondence: Randall was quick with turning in the application for Financial Secretary, Jim completed the nomination form, and everything has been emailed to Supreme; just awaiting final word. Br. Mike confirms that with the appointment the Financial Secretary can proceed with duties. All forms that needed to be submitted have, and nothing further needs to be done at this time.
Upcoming Schedule: Our next General Council Meeting: Tuesday, October 18th at 7pm in the St. Michael Room. The KoC provides online training programs, the following are scheduled for 7pm,Programs Training 10/12, Forms Training 10/17and Council Training 10/18 (Br. Mike will forward the direct website link to Br. Jim). A new event and first for our council, is coming up on Saturday, October 15th.Rosary Across America is organizing a Prayer Rally in front of the abortion clinic in Orland Park (South of 143rd and LaGrange) at 12pm (Erik will inquire about getting an announcement into the Bulletin). Also, Br. Jim will send some correspondence to the members with Paul and Randall included in the cc. On Friday, October 28th the next Chapter Meeting(St. Joes Park, Crestview) will be held, and we would like to have all Council members present. It’s a big deal as we are for the first Council for the State and for Joliet this year. It’s a big deal.
Unfinished Business: Additional appointments of unfilled positions and membership dues.
New Business: The Installation of the New Officers will be scheduled after consulting with Fr. Magiera; ideally after the 10am Mass.Also, a discussion needed regarding communication among members that is both secure and doesn’t publish personal information, i.e., Signal.
Deputy Grand Knight’s Report:Nothing to report currently.
Chancellor’s Report:Michael would like to have his contact information provided in the Bulletin and Pulpit announcements as he’s also serving as Membership Director. Excited to attract more men into the council and stresses the importance of having shared voice.“Faith First, called to Service and here to support one another.”
Recorder’s Report:Nothing to report currently.
Financial Secretary’s Report:Nothing to report currently.
Treasurer’s Report:Will start the process of getting a checking account setup. The Grand Knight, Deputy Grand Knight and Treasurer will all be co-signers on the account.
Warden’s Report:Nothing to report currently other than once materials are obtained there will need to be a place to store them. Br. Jim will speak with Fr. Magiera to identify such a place.
Trustees Report:Nothing to report currently.
Membership Report:Nothing to report currently, however it’s important that we provide mentorships to new members, find out what they are interested in and help steer them to the right projects. Br. Mike informed us all that he very graciously donated Officer Name Tags for each of us. They are great advertisements which can be worn with our suit coats at Mass and can help encourage conversation.
