Call to Order: 6:20pm
Opening Prayer& Pledge of Allegiance:Prayer led by Grand Knight Jim Holuj Jr

Recognition of Guests and Dignitaries: None present.
Grand Knight’s Report:Br. Jim thanks us all for the prayers and support as he was struck with a recent case of vertigo.
The 32nd Annual Cardosi Award Recognition Ceremony, Saturday, May 20th at the Knight of Columbus Building in Kankakee; cocktails 5pm, dinner at 6pm and tickets are $40.
State Convention is coming up April 21st – April 23rd in Springfield and it would be nice to send two delegates. There is discussion there might be a car-pool going down on Saturday, April 22nd and driving back that evening. Possibly leaving 5-5:30am, Br. Randel & Br. Glenn expressed interest in possibly attending along with GK.
Officers Meetings: Moving forward we’d like to hold Officers Meetings at 7pm, this will help keep with continuity with the General Meetings; we’ll run this by the rest of the Officers.
Thank you to Eric and Stan for the work in the gym.
Newsletter: Discussed the idea of the Newsletter being posted the website in lieu of occurring cost of printing and mailing.
Vocation Raffle: Booklets will be picked up at the State Convention, and the portion our Council collects will be donated to the FSSP Seminary. We’d like to make sure to get an early jump with announcements in the bulletin and from the pulpit, especially noting that the proceeds not only support the Diocese but also Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary.
Worthy Grand Knight remindsthatOfficers Meetings is where the “heavy lifting” happens, more active participation would be great; especially when it comes to introducing potential new business.
Upcoming Elections: June is the vote and new Officers take over in July. A non-elected official will be selected to put a Slate together. This individual would call Officers to see if they’d like to remain in their positions. Worthy Grand Knight will get more familiar with the process, but if everyone remains in place (except the 1-Year Trustee) we can present the whole for a vote. More info to come.
Chaplains Report: Excused, G/K expressed his appreciation of Father’s continued support of the Council, not only by making sure our presence is known from the pulpit but also the mass intention when we had the St. Joseph icon.
Deputy Grand Knight’s Report:excused.
Chancellor’sReport:excused. Great event having the Flame of Love at the parish, and thank you to Eric, Paul, Stan, and Brian helping to get set up after the movie.
Recorder’s Report:Nothing to report.
Financial Secretary’s Report:excused, still 9 outstanding dues to be paid.
Treasurer’s Report:Council Treasurer Chuck Safiran opened by stating that since our last meeting (03/07) we have received $180 in income from dues, however only $150 was deposited as one of the checks was made out incorrectly. The incorrect check has been shredded and reissued– $90 from dues collected and $90 from donations.
Year to Date, we started the year with $400 in the bank. We’ve received $745 of income, $175 of that have come from donations. $570 dollars have been collected from membership dues. Total expensesso far this year $125. Currently, we have $1,020 in the bank.
Lecturer’s Report:Recap on the Movie Matinee, the even would have been a loss. We took in about $62 and the expenses were $220, however with donations we came ahead with $133. We had 3 families and several Knights in attendance. We also received great feedback to incorporate moving forward; more advertising and setting the next one on a Sunday afternoon after Mass. We have many resources already for the next one and would be served well by having on-site storage. $9 of coins are not to be depositing but used for breaking change at the next event the rest will go to Randy.
Quick turnaround for the next Movie and June sounds ideal, possibly Sunday, June 11th. Movie idea, the original 30’s Superman serials.
Erik ran the Fish & Fry event idea by the Choir Mom’s, and they weren’t keen on that idea, but he’ll try to get out the idea to some of the Men in the Parish who are not in the Council to see if there is any traction from them. June could also be a good time for that due to weather.
Another event idea is hosting Bishop Hicks for dinner with our Council so we can show support for him. We’ll pick 5-6 dates and float them by the bishop, and he can select a date based on his availability.
Classroom Space at the School: There is a room that needs fixing up, which would be project for the Council to tackle. Also, there is a classroom in good shape that we might be able use and store our filing cabinet while the other space gets set up.
The roof is the main issue with the school and how it effects the classroom.
Litany in Response to Abortion was given to Erik which will get scanned and sent out by Br. Jim.
Advocate’s Report: St. Paul Street Evangelization, teaching Catholics how to practically share our Catholic faith in an authentic, non-confrontational, and joyful way.Basic Evangelization Training held at St. Joseph’s on Saturday, May 13th 9am – 3pm, cost is $15 and can be registered for at stpaulse.com/joliet-bet.

Program Reports:
Committee’s: Website – We will bring up for vote at the next business meeting the domain name and the hosting length of time (10 year recommended, $106.80). It will be helpful to have a public and private facing Calendar on the website so we can keep track of important dates and events.
Community: Corpus Christi procession–June 11th we will have an Honor Guard for the procession. Also, we’ll have Brother Knights man the alters on the route and other on the perimeter. GK presented a recommendation of while arm bands with a patch of the shield of St. Joseph that can be worn with our suites. It’d looked great and will be shown/proposed to the general membership.
