Call to Order

Meeting Commenced at 7:04 pm with the Lord’s Prayer.

Roll Call of Officers: All present, except the Recorder who is excused. Minutes taken by the 2nd year Trustee.

Approval of the Minutes of the Previous Meeting:Motion by Nick, second by Erik to approve the previous meeting minutes. All voted in favor.

Chaplain’s Message:Pleased to see excellent turn-out, loyalty to parish and the Council. Wishing a blessed and Merry Christmas and well wishes into years ahead.

Grand Knight’s Report: We have good momentum thus far in the early stage of the Council – Helped distribute food to families, weekly book club, event in support of police, Rosary prayed before abortion clinic. The book club is reading an excellent book, Bearing False Witness, and all are welcome to join. Next Officers meeting January 3rd – all are welcome. Next regular meeting January 17th.  Thanks to those who helped prepare for the party.

Treasurer Report: No financial activity since last Council meeting in November. Assets at $400 in our account at Newmark Credit Union. No expenses or liabilities. Invoice received from Joliet Chapter for $11.20.

Financial Secretary’s Report: We have 30 members, 28 associates, 2 insurance members, 2 honorary life members, and Priests are exempt.  FS is custodian of the Council Roll is log of all members – 28 who are Charter members and 2 new ones that joined afterwards. All members asked to sign the roll. Council seal is on order, akin to a notary public seal, to emboss official documents such as membership cards.  Supreme Council provides the first one for free. We should have it in late January. No membership fees for 2022 which were waived by Supreme Council. We need to determine our annual dues level and approve the by-laws, then the FS will start the process for 2023 membership cards. No funds have been taken in thus far, but there are four receipts which will be provided to the Treasurer for $113.88 for envelopes, stamps, pamphlets, etc. 

Motion by John Glennon, second by Jim Holuj Sr., to reimburse FS for costs incurred. All voted in favor.

Membership Report: Have 2 new members. His contact info is included in the parish bulletin but that has not yielded any candidates. In January, we will start to have members stand at the outside of Church to recruit men from the parishioners. We are seeking a Retention Director as well to work with him.

Respect Life Program Director: No report this month. Please pray for Fr. Pavone and for the unborn.

Old Business:None.

New Business:Motion by Treasurer to pay our $11 dues to Joliet Chapter ($.40 per member), seconded by Julian.  All voted in favor.

New Council Development Chair:Congratulations by the group to Mike Enos’ son and nephew on earning Eagle Scout. Great to see the full attendance and enthusiasm. 

Good of the Order:Pray for the Carmelite Sisters of St. Joseph (contemplative order near St. Louis) who are praying for us. Pray for Fr. Magiera. Pray for Sandy Compezi, mother of Glenn Proud, Shelly Parker, Rose Juergens, James Banasiak, Veronica (youth with cancer), Hugh McKenty, Zita Stukas, Regina Martinez, family struggling to receive social security benefits. Hail Mary prayed to seek her intercession on behalf of those listed.
