Recognition of Guests and Dignitaries: Welcome Julian, one of our newest council members.

Grand Knight’s Report:Br. Jim reminds us that even though we are brand new, we have already accomplished a lot and our momentum continues.  He couldn’t have asked for a better group of officers; we are faith filled men and putting it into action.  His prayer is that we continue to surrender ourselves to God’s will.

Officers now have Jewels from that State; Worthy Dist. Dep. Steve Joutras& New Council Dev. Chairman Mike Eno’s were instrumental in making that happen and we express our deep appreciation and gratitude to them.  We’d like to send a personal thank you from the Council, where would we send it?

Our Constitutional Roll has been provided to us by Dist. Dep. Joutras and has been signed by both Julian and Kevin, our newest members. Our Charter is on the way.

A huge Thank you goes out to DGK Paul Ward and Warden Stanley Malnar for all their efforts and hard work on the rectory projects as requested by Fr. Magiera.  Br. Stan has personally put in over 110 hours in nearly 2-3 weeks of work.  Even though we each have special talents never hesitate to reach out to the brotherhood if general labor is needed; we’ll be there to support.

Thank you to Br. Chuck Safiran who spearheaded getting our bank accounts set up.

We are exploring the possibility of creating a Council Website, however as we so early in our development it’s not a top priority but something worth keeping on the radar.

Br. Jim reminds us to consider contributing to the Neuman Fund supporting Catholic ministries at our State Universities, Supreme is recommending at least $5 per member.

The following positions still need to befilled: Family Chair and Charity Ambassador.  The Charity Ambassador keeps the Council informed about how well our council is doing regarding the State’s 5 charities.  Please contact Br. Jim if interested or would like additional information.  Also, if anyone wants to recommend someone let Br. Jim know and he’ll have a conversation with them.

Br. Jim will plan with Fr. Magiera a date to have the instillation of Officers after a 10am Mass.

Lastly, he’d like to see more participation by non-officers.  We want to make sure our members know what we are up to and see where they’d like to get involved.  All will be enriched by the fellowship and brotherhood.

Deputy Grand Knight’s Report:Nothing much to report.  Work is going well at the rectory, there are still some minor projects, a sink, oven, and lighting fixture work.

Chancellor’sReport:Excused, nothing to report.

Recorder’s Report:Nothing to report.

Financial Secretary’s Report:No formal report for this evening.

Treasurer’s Report:We’ve had our councils checking account set up at NuMark Credit Union with a deposit of $400 and will be available for use two weeks from the date of set up.  Forms have been created for use of tracking expense needs which will assist with auditing that needs to be done every 6 months.

Lecturer’s Report:Excused and update provided by Br Jim.   Br. Erik is looking to have a Family Movie Night sometime in January after Christmas and New Year’s.  Any movie that is selected we’ll want to make sure all copyright matters are worked out in advance. Br. Brian suggested looking at EWTN or Augustine Institute; Nick may suggestions for family friendly content

Advocate’s Report:Excused, nothing to report.

Warden’s Report:Br. Stan reminded us that a portion of the weekly collections goes to the Dioceses.  However, contributes made to the building fund stay within the parish and can further help rectory work.  Stickers that denote “Building Fund” were distributed to the officers for use on our weekly envelopes.

Trustees Report:Andrew is interested in collaborating on the development of the website.  We’ll continue to discuss and discover who from within the membership may have skill and interest in partnering on the site’s creation.  Julian expressed interest in jumping on board.

Membership Report:Excused.  Br. Jim mentioned that he feels that we’ll attract members with personal invitations and by being examples of a Traditional Parish Council.  Men are attracted to sacrifice and honor, and we display that by our commitment helpingand be there for Fr. Magiera.  Quality over quantity.  Br. Brian expressed the importance of displaying a proper image.  Wearing officer badges at specific occasions such as Eucharistic processions, carrying the LepantoFlag, traditional Marian banner and our Council banner will show a properly masculine and somewhat militaristic state of being that is attractive and a legitimate reference for Our Lady. Visible without over doing it.

Program Reports:GK’s still looking for a Family Director.

New Business: Skimmed through the By-Laws of the New Lennox Council to get an overview of how much of it is boiler plated.  It appears that dues and meeting times are the main things that are unique.  All felt that a $30 membership duewas pretty reasonable.

Good of the Order:Jim’s In-laws Ron and Marcia, Glenn’s Mother Ruth, Sandy Compisi (John Glennon’s Mother-in-law), Brian’s Father-in-Law, Andrew’s Friends 8 yr. old daughter Veronica and Strs of St. Joseph Carmelite in St. Louis.

Closing Prayer& Prayer for the Canonization of Blessed Michael McGivney
